Engine Protection Equipment (EPE) was founded by H.J. (John) Deetman. A well-known local WA businessman, John owned numerous service stations along the Canning Highway through East Fremantle.  After retiring, John saw a niche in the diesel engine industry. Using his local industry knowledge, he formed EPE in 1970, distributing global brands from his carport in East Fremantle.

John’s sons joined the company in 1975 and a year later EPE expanded to new premises in Myaree. Following four successful decades in Myaree, EPE opened a 5,000 square metre facility in Bibra Lake in late 2016. Johns Grandson, Mason Deetman has now taken the reigns as Managing Director.

EPE is proficient at supplying and fabricating thousands of top-range diesel engine parts to numerous industries across Australia, EPE’s depot features a showroom, large warehouse and fabrication workshop.

EPE only sources parts from reputable brands such as, but not limited to: Parker Hannifin, Racor, Aflex, Murphy, Hewitt Industries, Purosil, Mission Rubber, Donaldson, Durr Universal, Planichem, Rubber Design, Vibratech, Isoflex, Clampco, Centri, Norma & Breeze.

Relationships with these suppliers has been established over 40 years in some cases.

EPE also has an in-house manufacturing capability for the manufacture of custom exhaust systems, custom tube work, in aluminium, Stainless Steel & Mild Steel. Full design capabilities with 3D modelling for the smallest to the biggest of engines.

EPE does partner with Durr Universal with design and manufacture on the larger scale projects. Within that manufacturing capability is EPE’s CNC gasket division. Using state of the art equipment EPE can design and cut out gaskets of various materials to suit the end user requirements. EPE stocks a wide range of materials on the shelf.

EPE can also offer custom manufactured thermal blankets and custom-made exhaust bellows.

EPE works with many top tier companies and several of the major engine OEM’s.

Exhaust systems, cooling tube work, thermal blankets, vibration isolation, Instrumentation and Filtration is what EPE specialises in.

Power Stations, Marine Vessels, Trucks, Drill Rigs, Mining Equipment and backup generators are the core of EPE’s business with many years of experience and examples with all.
