Engine Protection Equipment (EPE) has been supporting Australia’s industrial engine sector since 1970. Founded by H.J. (John) Deetman, EPE began as a small, locally driven business built on deep industry knowledge and trusted relationships—values that continue to define the company today.

After identifying a gap in the diesel engine market, John established EPE in East Fremantle, initially distributing globally recognised brands. With the next generation joining the business in the mid-1970s, EPE quickly expanded, operating from Myaree for more than 40 years before moving into a purpose-built 5,000 m² facility in Bibra Lake in 2016. Today, EPE is led by third-generation Managing Director Mason Deetman, combining experience with a forward-looking approach.

EPE is a trusted supplier and manufacturer of premium ancillary engine components, delivering both off-the-shelf and engineered solutions to industries across Australia. Our Bibra Lake facility integrates a showroom, large-scale warehousing, and advanced fabrication capabilities, enabling responsive service and end-to-end project support.

We partner with leading global manufacturers—including Parker Hannifin, Racor, Donaldson, Murphy, Purosil, Aflex, Durr Universal, and many others—backed by supplier relationships spanning more than four decades. This ensures consistent access to proven, high-quality components for critical applications.

Our in-house manufacturing capabilities include custom exhaust systems, cooling tube work, and fabricated assemblies in aluminium, stainless steel, and mild steel. Using advanced 3D design and modelling, we develop solutions for engines of all sizes, from compact systems to large-scale industrial installations. For major projects, EPE collaborates closely with Durr Universal on design and manufacture.

EPE also operates a dedicated gasket manufacturing division, producing precision-cut gaskets from a wide range of materials, supported by extensive on-site stock for fast turnaround. Complementary offerings include custom thermal blankets and engineered exhaust bellows.

EPE works with leading OEMs and top-tier organisations across power generation, marine, mining, transport, drilling, defence, and standby power sectors. Our core specialisations—exhaust systems, cooling solutions, thermal management, vibration isolation, instrumentation, hydraulic hose assemblies, and filtration—are delivered with a focus on reliability, performance, and long-term engine protection.
