Benelec – Advancing Australia's RF Capability

Established in 1978, Benelec is an Australian-owned SME specialising in the design and manufacture of Antennas and RF components to enhance sovereign capability. Our team of RF engineers, based in Botany, Sydney, develops a diverse range of RF solutions for fixed-site and mobile applications across the 2MHz–8GHz spectrum. Our military antenna range supports UxS, MANET, EW, and C2 applications, delivering reliable performance for critical operations.

We cater for dis-mounted and mounted RF requirements and tailor antenna solutions to meet Defence needs.

Benelec also specialises in Radio Frequency (RF) Systems, COTS Radio Systems and P25 Secure Tactical, Digital and Intercommunication Radio Solutions. We proudly support the Public Safety and Defence sectors in Australia.

We focus on providing tailored, secure radio solutions to many government departments. We work with key clients, including the Australian Department of Defence—DSRG, where we designed, supplied, and maintained turnkey secure radio systems for 42 Australian Military bases. These P25 Digital Secure networks extend via conventional repeaters, mobile, and portable radio systems and are complimented by an extensive range of radio accessories.

We design and manufacture antennas specialising in Tactical SATCOM, UxS (Unmanned Systems), MANET, EW, and C2 applications for land and maritime environments. Our product range covers all frequency bands from 2MHz to 8GHz, supporting portable/dismounted, mobile/mounted, transportable, and fixed-site applications, with tailored RF solutions to meet customer needs. All antenna products and systems are designed and manufactured at our 3,000-square-meter facility in Botany, Sydney.

With on-site engineering and far-field antenna measurement capabilities, Benelec ensures prompt and customised solutions to client requirements.

Benelec sources high-quality transmission components and devices from internationally recognised manufacturers. Our range includes:

  • Cables & Connectors – Including jumper cable assemblies, EMP protectors, loads, power dividers, RF coaxial switches, attenuators, combiners, output filters, and patch panel systems.
  • Coaxial Cables – Offering an extensive 50Ω coaxial cable range, from Military-spec Teflon cables to low-loss 2 1/4" corrugated jacket feeder cables, as well as waveguides and related components.
  • Coaxial Connectors – Supporting industry-standard MCX, SMA, SMB, BNC, TNC, N-Type, UHF, 4.3-10, 1.6-5.6, 4.1-9.5, 7-16, and EIA connectors in both commercial and Mil-Spec grades. We also provide cutting, stripping, and crimping tools.

Industrial Services & Nationwide Support

Through our Industrial Services Division, Benelec provides design, manufacturing, and processing solutions for volume reprocessing, repairs, retrofits, modifications, refinishing, and repackaging. Benelec's head office in Sydney, NSW houses our sales, exports, and warehousing facilities. Fabrication facilities include laser cutting of sheet and tube for Steel, Stainless steel and AL up to 25mm thick, Laser and TIG welding facilities, Electropolishing of Stainless-steel items, CNC Vertical Machining and CNC lathe equipment allows Benelec to respond to a wide range of requirements.
