Concentrating the company’s efforts in the area of conventional and CNC machining, Amiga Engineering™ Pty Ltd carefully, and with much thought and research, realised the industry called for the company to invest in new, state of the art technology.
Amiga is accredited to AS9100D for Aerospace, Space and Defence clients, also with ISO9001:2015 for all other manufacturing. Owner and founder of Amiga Engineering™ Pty Ltd, Michael Bourchier, has expertly pushed the company right to the centre of cutting-edge technology. The Australian company is proud to be the only company worldwide with 3D printing, 3D scanning, 3D printer equipment sales, CNC machining, fabrication and industrial gearboxes all in the one privately-owned commercial service facility. Amiga are the first in Australia to produce Metal Powders using the 3D Labs, ATO LAB Plus Ultrasonic Atomizer.
The technology, equipment and services are available to new and existing clients. Amiga currently has 4 metal 3D printers using DMP technology, 4 DLP Polymer printers, 1 SLS SPro60, 1 ATO LAB Plus Metal Powder Atomizer and 1 GOM Atos-Q 3D scanner installed in the additive manufacturing facility to allow its clients to develop new components far exceeding the realm of conventional manufacturing. A partnership with 3D Systems allows Amiga to provide only premium 3D equipment sales, as well as printed parts using the same technology for the in-house service bureau.
Amiga manufactures the only Australian Made brand of industrial gearboxes (“Genat and Wood”). They are used in many industries, and have been adapted into Navy applications. Amiga focuses on quality and longevity, which the “Genat and Wood” branded flexibility of design enables the gearmotor to fit any given application. By incorporating standard IEC flange mount motors in the Genat and Wood™ input, enabling its use in almost any application. This also permits the flexibility of fitting alternative client specified motor brands.
Versatility plays a large role in product supply and demand, which is supported by Amiga, being the Australian agents for the Italian brands of industrial drives; “Varmec” “Tramec” and “Motomeccanica”. This provides competitive pricing versus other imported units and brands. It also offers a larger variety of applications.
Amiga prides itself on quick turnaround for breakdown and emergency situations. With manufacturing and the office located in Tullamarine, Victoria, Amiga is perfectly situated, being only minutes away from air, road and sea transport.
The company has been manufacturing for industry since establishment in 1988, with capabilities of turning diameters up to 2800mm, milling lengths up to 4300mm and one of the largest vertical borers left in the country, with a travelling height of 1800mm. Amiga are the specialists for pipe fittings and flanges, manufacturing for and servicing the Oil & Gas, Mining and Petrochemical industries for over 33 years. The company is a small business with large capabilities, and has grown to become a successful, reliable, dynamic and reputable engineering company. Manufacturing for well-known companies and primes in the Aerospace, Defence and Space industries, alongside Medical, Mining, Food & Beverage and much more.
