GRASSHOPPER: Contemporary, autonomous EW.

As a result of its success in the Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA) - AUKUS EW Innovation Challenge, ADT has been awarded a contract to develop a world-leading electronic warfare capability to provide a significant advantage to the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

The focal product for this project is GRASSHOPPER, designed to deliver operators with an advanced cognitive Find, Fix, Track, Target, Engage capability via a highly-portable and autonomous system.

GRASSHOPPER can operate both independently and within a network.

GRASSHOPPER is entirely designed and built by ADT, leveraging a robust supply chain that is over 90% Australian.

This approach mitigates potential international trade disruptions and ensures ADT's manufacturing continuity during critical periods.

Affordability remains a key design principle of GRASSHOPPER, facilitating high-volume deployment as needed and enhancing the fidelity of electromagnetic spectrum (EMS) monitoring functions.

With low Size, Weight, Power, and Cost (SWaP-C) characteristics, GRASSHOPPER enables innovative platform integration and employment concepts.

Key features include rapid mission programming, deployment by non-specialised operators, and extended power duration, which support expeditious retasking and deployment.

The specific development of GRASSHOPPER will continue under the ASCA program through December 2025.
