LHD Landing Craft Asset Class Prime Contractor (ACPC)
Naval Ship Management Australia Pty Ltd (NSM), a 50/50 UGL and Babcock JV, is the Prime Contractor responsible for asset stewardship of 14 of the Royal Australian Navy’s Landing Helicopter Dock and Landing Craft vessels. NSM’s role as Asset Steward is to ensure the strategic assets always provide the operational capability required by RAN, providing services in asset management, maintenance planning, contract management, cost estimating and critical risk management.
LHD Landing Craft In-Service Support
Long-term in-service support contract improving critical fleet outcomes. Rigorous asset management and an integrated technical supply chain are improving availability and affordability. UGL have been recognised by the Amphibious Combat & Sealift SPO as consistently exemplifying an ‘’exemplar working relationship’’ and delivering significant asset improvements for the LLCs.
Most recently, shortfalls in the LLC capacity to transport the current and future fleet of Army vehicles as part of the Amphibious Force was identified by UGL and rectified through the Bulk Head upgrade of four vessels. The LLCs are now fit for purpose, with the remaining eight vessels scheduled for upgrade.
Warship Asset Management Agreement - alliance member (NSM)
In 2016, NSM was instrumental in creating the Warship Asset Management Agreement (WAMA) for the continued sustainment of the ANZAC Class frigates. This is a strategic partnership with BAE Systems, SAAB and the Commonwealth for total asset management of the frigates through to end of life, focussing on fleet availability, efficiency and cost optimisation.
WAMA continues to achieve all performance-based measures, ensuring the warships are operational, seaworthy and capable of performing all required tasks.
Petrol, Oils and Lubricants Remediation Project at Naval Communication Station Harold E Holt
Design, construction and commissioning of new bunding, storm and oil water treatment, site automation and control systems, fire suppression equipment and tank access. UGL’s in-house team is delivering for this strategic Defence asset amid an operational base, maintaining an excellent safety record.
