Industry 4.0 in Australia
Industry 4.0 and digitalisation have reached all areas of industry. Production and logistics processes as well as materials management have begun to change. In the factory of the future, modern IT technologies will increasingly network with traditional production processes. Gone are the times when C- Parts supply was characterised by pure supply of the required items.
There is hardly any development which is currently influencing the production environment as profoundly as the change which is hand in hand with the buzzword Industry 4.0. Industry 4.0, robotics, autonomous vehicles, self-controlling production systems, virtual reality, artificial intelligence what sounds like science fiction is now becoming reality in many industrial companies. In the factory of the future, processes are now automated and systems interlinked. Above all, more flexibility, drive and agility is required. People, machines, systems, purchasing departments, production, logistics and products directly communicate with one another in Industry 4.0. This results in enormous potential and chances. The digitisation and the linking of manufacturing processes along the whole global value chain via internet, i.e. smart manufacturing using the Internet of Things (IoT) / Industrie 4.0, offers great economic potential for the economies of Germany and Australia.
Industrie 4.0 is radically transforming national economies, as innovation and digitization call for a paradigm shift in manufacturing, industrial production, products and business models. Since value chains do not end at national borders, closer international cooperation is key to the succes of national economies in this field.
Germany and Australia as dynamic players in the field of digitisation have both started initiatives, Plattform Industrie 4.0 in Germany and the Prime Minister’s Industry 4.0 Taskforce in Australia, to keep up and improve their position in Industrie 4.0 and IoT.

CPS®GLOBAL RFID KANBAN
is a traditional full service two-bin Kanban system that works on the JIT (Just in Time) process.
Using the pull method, once the front bin is used and exhausted, it is placed on the Kanban rack iSHELF®or inside the iBOX®, signalling your demand long before you encounter a stock-out. Radio transmission of the item and bin data is directly forwarded from the customer’s production facility to the Thomas Warburton warehouse distribution centre. The rear bin then slides forward in the Kanban racking as your active stock.
CPS® GLOBAL RFID provides a simple solution for the management of your consumables and is flexible enough to accommodate any requirement you have. This includes safety products, chemicals, manufacturing consumables, cutting tools and our specialty – fasteners and assembly products (C-Parts).
• Continuous distribution of goods at mutually agreed, pre-determined check points
• Reduced inventory holdings and storage area(s) required available in the right place
• A single supplier with fixed contract pricing

A Brief History Overview
Thomas Warburton Pty. Ltd. was formed in 1858 originally as wrought iron merchants supplying the gold fields and prospecting gold miners. The original location of the business was at Bourke Street, Melbourne, Victoria and was one of the founding businesses of Melbourne.
In June 2003, Thomas Warburton was acquired by the Würth Group which enabled the company to continue its policy and hunger for expansion.
Recognising national opportunities, in January 2011 further growth was undertaken with a merger between Thomas Warburton Pty. Ltd and EDL Fasteners Australia Pty. Ltd. enabling greater exposure to eastern Australia.
Today, Thomas Warburton’s Head Office in Dandenong South has even greater warehouse capacities than ever before, state-of-the-art warehouse and distribution technologies, supply and logistical efficiencies.
