Our Presence in Australia and New Zealand
From humble beginnings as a grain inspection house on the docks of 1870’s Rouen to the world-leading testing, inspection and certification company of today. The evolution of SGS is driven by innovation, expertise and an ambition to help organisations achieve the highest standards of quality, safety and compliance.

We established our first Australian operations in 1949, with our first major office in Sydney. In 2008, our head office relocated to Perth, where it now forms part of the Perth Airport Estate. Today, SGS Australia operates a national network of over 50 offices and laboratories, employing more than 1,700 people. Each state hosts a range of sites offering comprehensive testing, inspection, verification and certification services.

In New Zealand, we have been operating since 1968. We employ approximately 800 people across the country, making us the leading provider of inspection, certification, testing and verification services. Our head office is based in Auckland, supported by over 25 offices and laboratories located from Invercargill in the south to Ruakaka in the north, allowing us to serve clients nationwide.
