Description

PWR is an Australian AS9100 and NADCAP accredited company that specialise in engineering, design, and manufacturing of innovative thermal control systems for a wide variety of applications. PWR heat exchangers are used in Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) where they cool the engine coolant, oil, and charge air, and in the electronics sector to cool printed circuit boards (PCB) and lithium ion batteries. Further PWR heat exchangers are currently being used to support hydrogen powered flight, for both hydrogen fuel cell cooling and liquid hydrogen to gaseous hydrogen transition (cryogenic).  

In addition to manufacturing heat exchangers, PWR also hold NADCAP accreditation for vacuum brazing aluminium, heat treatment, and surface treatment such as hard anodize and chromate conversion.

By leveraging a vertical integration model, PWR offers a unique all in one solution under a single roof, helping to reduce lead time and protect IP by limiting external movements of your parts.

PWR is currently a supplier to Formula 1, NASCAR, V8 Supercars, Indy Car, WRC, Formula E and MotoGP, and has supplied into these categories for over a decade overseeing the transition from pure ICE drive systems, to the hybridisation era of today. PWR has engineered and created the solutions required to support new electric drive and energy recovery systems, as well as the optimisation and characterization of the fluids these systems require. In the automotive sector, PWR supply directly into major OEM manufacturing lines, and has become the go to brand of modern hyper car manufacturers for thermal system integration.

PWR manufactures heat exchanger technology in several different variants; tube and fin, bar and plate, additive (3D metal printing) as well as MMX (Micro Matrix). This diversity of manufacturing techniques paired with PWRs unique ability to create profiled and free form geometry heat exchangers, ensures that there is a lightweight and high performance solution to meet even the most demanding needs.

PWR has manufacturing sites in 3 global locations, headquartered in Australia (Gold Cost), with manufacturing in the USA (Indianapolis) and the UK (Rugby). Each of these locations possess world class engineering, design, and manufacturing capabilities. The Australian facility is home to a custom designed thermal calorimeter (Wind Tunnel), which is critical for ongoing research and development of heat exchange technologies, but also for validation of pre-delivery heat exchangers. In addition to the Wind Tunnel, PWR also have onsite CT and Xray capabilities that allow for non-destructive inspection of internal geometry.

PWR is a publicly owned company since its float in 2015, trading on the ASX under PWH (PWR Holdings Ltd) and is currently active in the aerospace and defence industry working with key primes and supplies into aerospace and defence programs across land, sea, air and space sectors.
