Military featured products

Interfine® 5897

A two-pack, easy clean, low gloss, polysiloxane finish, providing superior aesthetic performance while demonstrating excellent colour and gloss retention. It contains Low Solar Absorption (LSA) pigmentation which reflects infrared radiation from the sun – this contributes to a reduction in temperature of internal vessel areas and therefore reduces the amount of power required for AC units, subsequently increasing cruising range. Interfine® 5897 is qualified to meet the requirements of APAS0501 Type II, Class 1.

SiloxoGrip®

A Low Solar Absorbing, high solids, extended durability, polysiloxane non-skid deck coating. Developed to meet the requirements of MIL-PRF-24667C and modified to meet Def (AUST) 5000 Vol 03 Pt 04 in AS2700 N63 Pewter with colour stable, LSA pigmentation. This product can be applied by spray or roller.

Intershield® 300HS

A high solids universal primer which builds upon the extensive global track record of Intershield® 300 and has the same industry leading performance. Intershield® 300HS offers improved overcoating times, and reduced VOC and Greenhouse Gas emissions in comparison with Intershield® 300.

Interline® 850

An epoxy phenolic tank coating approved for the storage and transport of potable water. Interline 850 is qualified to meet the requirements of APAS 0212 & APAS 2973.

Intercept 8500 LPP®

A high performance biocidal anti-fouling product approved for use on RAN platforms.

Capabilities

Full technical service facilities throughout Australia and New Zealand relating to marine coatings and anti-fouling coatings. Greater than 85% of coatings supplied by AkzoNobel to the RAN are manufactured at APAS approved manufacturing facilities in Australia ensuring local content and a secure supply chain.

Hull Performance Monitoring

We're committed to partnering with customers to lead the marine industry with innovative technology and digital tools that extend asset life, reduce maintenance costs, and improve fuel efficiency.

Our Intertrac® Vision software package was built on big data from research studies with the University College of London, Marin Institute and decades of coatings performance data. The digital tool predicts hull performance based on various inputs such as trading pattern, speed, and coating type. It is the industry's first consultancy tool that provides ship operators with predictions on the fuel and CO2 savings potential of fouling control coatings.

Design and Development

Our experienced team of R&D chemists are dedicated to stringent product performance testing and new product development, ensuring continuous innovation and quality improvement.

Our Australian teams partner with fellow researchers at International Marine laboratories in the UK, America, Singapore, China and Korea in order to share expertise and testing capability.

Quality Systems

  • ISO9001:2015 Quality Management Systems
  • APAS Approved Manufacturing Facilities
  • IMO PSPC Approved Manufacturing Facilities
  • ISO14001:2015 Environmental Management systems
  • AMPP Certified Personnel
