Description
Amber Technology is an almost 40 year old publicly listed company (ASX:AMO) with multiple business divisions working for different market sectors and profiles.
The Defence, Law Enforcement and Emergency Services (DLES) division specialises in applications appropriate to those areas and is Australia and New Zealand’s sole authorised distributor for Silvus Technologies Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) radio systems.
We are also distributors for the Haivision range of video encoding, transcoding, transport and display systems, allowing us to provide complete turnkey video acquisition and distribution systems for both mobile and static assets.
Amber also offer a full range of carefully selected complementary products for Silvus and Haivision deployments – Antennas (tracking and static), Transit cases, Masts and masts mounts, display systems. In some cases we have commissioned custom antennas for our customers, using local or overseas suppliers, to ensure maximum utility in a final application.

Amber Technology offers a single point of contact for product sourcing, supply and support to meet customer requirements.
In addition to specialised DLES products we offer a wide range of audio/visual systems for corporate and enterprise markets focussing on capture, processing, storage and distribution of voice, video and data.
Corporate Capabilities
In the DLES division we supply equipment and provide design, commissioning and through-life support services either direct to our clients or through major and minor Defence Primes or other SIs. We do not seek to undertake national infrastructure projects but to deliver subsystems of these projects as subcontractors with the highest level of design and sustainment. We do not perform physical installations to vehicles or terrestrial infrastructure. Examples of the type of projects we have successfully delivered in the last 5 years include:
• Whole of Enterprise Ingest, Editing, Storage and Management solutions for video production systems at Australia’s major Broadcasters
• Enterprise video compression platforms for national video streaming and delivery organizations, police and emergency services
• Design and delivery of customized Silvus mesh data radio units for standardised installation on naval capital ships, in conjunction with a
major Prime.
• Development of naval boarding party systems to deliver body worn video in real time from boarding party personnel.
• Delivery, commissioning and training for Australia-wide police forces. Over 1000 Silvus Radios have been delivered in Australia, with full
training, commissioning and sustainment services.
• Development of citywide Silvus radio systems for Australian Police and Emergency Services organisations
• Supply of Silvus equipment and training to Australian Special Forces Training Ranges, in support of targeting and autonomous vehicle
operations.
• Supply of Silvus to multiple UAV, USV and UGV OEMs. Integrating Silvus links at the manufacturer level with key global UxV
Manufacturers
• Supply of Silvus- and Haivision-based Helicopter video downlinking and distribution systems (to officer phone level) systems for
state-wide Police and Emergency Services applications.
As Silvus expert partners, we have been partnering with Silvus since 2012, and were the first entity to be granted territorial exclusivity for Silvus distribution in recognition of our contribution to Silvus’ global success and our technical and sales competencies. In 2021 we were awarded Silvus’ “International Defence Distributor of the Year” in recognition of our sales successes in the Defence sector.
We have been working with Haivision and CP cases for a similar period.
