Following on from a highly successful LAND FORCES 2021 exposition held in June this year, AMDA Foundation announces that the LAND FORCES 2022 International Land Defence Exposition will return to the Brisbane Exhibition and Convention Centre.

LAND FORCES 2022 will be a three-day event including an extensive conference program covering topical land defence issues, an industry exhibition and formal networking and engagement programs for industry, defence, government and academia from Australia and around the world.
AMDA Foundation Chief Executive Ian Honnery said LAND FORCES 2022 will provide an important platform for engagement between defence and industry, at a critical time for the Australian Army.
“Army is working through the largest single peacetime acquisition phase in the service’s history,” Mr Honnery said. “From helicopters to fighting vehicles, artillery, communications and soldier systems, Army is upgrading and developing its force and is looking to Australian industry to provide capability wherever possible.
“LAND FORCES 2022 will be a hub for engagement across the land defence community to allow Army to detail its requirements, and for industry to demonstrate that it can provide that capability.”
LAND FORCES 2021, held at the Brisbane Exhibition and Convention Centre in June this year, signalled a welcome post-COVID return to face-to-face engagement for industry. The event attracted 12,766 attendances from industry, government and defence over its three days, with 718 participating exhibitor companies and 26 conferences, symposia and seminars.
“Feedback from the very first day showed that the Australian defence industry was excited to be back to face-to-face engagement and renewing business relationships in person following the constraints of COVID-19,” Mr Honnery said.
“AMDA Foundation was grateful for the support of the Minister for Defence Industry, Melissa Price, and Chief of Army, Lieutenant General Rick Burr, for their personal commitment to the event and their extensive engagement with industry in the exhibition halls.
“The strength of support from the Department of Defence was evident and the participation by all State and Territory Governments demonstrated the national importance of Australia’s defence industry.”
Mr Honnery said feedback from LAND FORCES 2021 participants identified an appetite for LAND FORCES to return in 2022, returning to its pre-COVID biennial cycle of running in the latter half of even numbered years.
“The LAND FORCES team looks forward to once again providing defence, industry and government with a professional exposition that will allow the whole land defence community to engage on the issues that are important to the defence of our nation,” Mr Honnery said.
